The International Institute for
Restorative Practices, Bethlehem, Pa.,
Seeks a Professor of Education and Restorative Practices
THE INSTITUTION — The International Institute for Restorative Practices
is a new, innovative Graduate School in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Authorized by the
Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in 2006 as a private, independent, stand-alone institution, the
IIRP currently offers two master’s degrees: Master of Restorative Practices and Education and
Master of Restorative Practices and Youth Counseling. The Graduate School is located in the
Lehigh Valley in Bethlehem’s historic preservation district, 90 minutes from Philadelphia and
New York City. While the Graduate School is new, it has grown out of two remarkably effective
youth-serving agencies that have served delinquent and at-risk youth in southeastern Pennsylvania
for 30 years. The IIRP has an established training and consulting division that has worked
with tens of thousands of professionals from all 50 states and 40 countries since 1995 and has
affiliates and licensees in 12 countries.
Restorative practices is an emerging transdisciplinary field of study that enables people to restore and build
community in an increasingly disconnected world. It has been successfully employed by the
IIRP’s own demonstration programs for youth, as well as in many other school, criminal justice,
children-and-youth-serving and workplace environments.
